Wecome To My Blog

I have a had lifetime weight problem. Being overweight is something that had affected me tremendously from the quiet devastation of going into a dressing room and not having clothes fit anymore to being ashamed of taking my shirt off at the pool or at the beach to having difficulty breathing and being tired easily. There are times when I have gotten into shape and lost tremendous amounts of weight because there was a significant event happening that inspired me to make a change. In 1999, I started a program where I lost 77 pounds because I did not want to start the new millenium in 200o overweight. In early 2007, I lost 83 pounds because I just turned 39 and wanted to be "forty and fabulous" when I turned 40 in 2008. The picture you see at the top of this page was when I was 180 pounds in February of 2008 when I reached by early goal weight. I was little too thin but I had the ab definition that I always wanted which was amazing since I started that program at an obese 260 pounds.

Now I started my new program at 219 pounds which is a 39 pound gain in weight just since last year. Really horrible. My goal is to hit between 180 and 185 pounds by Valentines Day in the new millenium of 2010. I want to the weight-loss to be a Valentines Day present for my wife, for me and for our marriage. I hope anyone reading this who has had a weight problemw will join me in an effort to go into the new millenium "fit and fabulous".

Real Women

Just wanted to write about something that really gets me upset every time I see the news or read articles on the internet. It's the definition of "real women." It seems according to the media that if an advertisement or photo shows a woman who is in shape she is somehow not real and that the only"real women" are those that are overweight and out of shape. The gentle words are "women with curves." I see women who watch their diets and workout hard in cardio classes, cardio machines and weight training and they have incredible bodies. They have jobs and families to take care of but they make time for themselves to get and/or stay in shape. They are no less "real women" because they work hard to look and feel their best. I personally do not believe any person be they man or woman who is fat and out of shape wants to be that way. Everyone can have a great body if they really want it and are prepared to make the sacrifices to get there. I have seen people of all ages from their 20's to their 60's and varied forms of physical handicap make incredible body transformations. To say that a "real woman" has to be overweight is absurd.
